This is a full-time non-exempt role working Monday - Friday from 9:30am - 6pm. This role reports to the Lower School Director.
This role has an immediate start date and is working till July 31st, 2026.
This role will support after-school activities, camp and work as a floater monitor when needed.
We aim to offer a comprehensive and competitive afterschool program every day from 3:30pm-6:00pm for lower school students (preschool - 5th grade) and middle school students (6th through 8th grade) when the school is in session as well as camps during our breaks (3 weeks in total in October, February, April) and a Summer Camp in July (4 weeks in total).
The coordinator supports the Lower School Director with overall management and operations of Kennedy International School's afterschool program: aftercare, enrichment activities, and study hall.
The coordinator supports the Lower School Director with planning, staffing, advertising, and overseeing the camps during school breaks and the summer camp.

Responsibilities:
Afterschool and Camp Activities:
- Support the operations of all afterschool activities and events, including camps and summer camps
- Support the program operations, services, and the implementation of programs and/or processes (e.g., site rules, discipline, site schedule, space requirements, etc.) to provide services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements
- Respond to inquiries of staff, parents, and program participants to provide information and/or direction as may be required.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of school-wide events, celebrations, and activities, such as assemblies, talent shows, etc
- Assist in addressing student concerns and issues, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, staff, parents, and the community
- Collaborate with other school departments and community organizations to enhance student life programs and services.
- Serve as a key support staff member during Lower School lunch and recess hours
- Monitor incoming/outgoing traffic and interactions with a keen eye on potential issues in order to protect the well-being of students, staff, and the sanctity of the educational environment
- Assist the Lower School Director with the coordination of the efficient and safe movement of students during arrival and dismissal of lunch and recess hours, including aiding in hallway management
- Create a positive and welcoming environment for our students by ensuring lunch and recess spaces are clean, welcoming, and informative
- Support students' positive behavior by enforcing school wide rules to make sure the Lower School operations are running smoothly
- Participate in facilitating and overseeing students' health, safety, and behavior in indoor and outdoor settings throughout the school year
- Contribute to the school's seamless operation by maintaining open and proactive communication with faculty and staff
- Act as a liaison between students and administration
- Provide general support and related work as required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience coordinating afterschool program or related position
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
