Desirable Qualifications
The Private Insurance Specialist is responsible for all Private/Third Party billing, payments and AR responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Physical requirements include exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

- Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM
- Hybrid after provisional training period

- Demonstrate ability to communicate verbally and in writing to insurance companies
- Good Organization and customer service skills, and the ability to interact with clients, families, staff, management, physicians, representatives of insurance companies and other third party payors, as well as the general public
- Must function effectively under stress and demonstrate excellent problem solving skills
- Proficiency in use of computers and printers, fax machines and computer internet services and electronic medical records
- Good working knowledge of PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid
- Thorough understanding of all entitlement, disability, and public insurance programs
- Ability to act as a liaison between the front office and back office systems.
- Attention to detail and concentration
- Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
The Private Insurance Specialist is responsible for all Private/Third Party billing, payments and AR responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Submission of private insurance billing to proper insurance carrier
- Private Insurance payments/EOBs are filed; rejections are corrected and resubmitted accordingly
- Prepare and send monthly statements to clients
- Post all client payments received by mail
- Assist with helping clients regarding their monthly statements as needed
- Regular communication with clinics regarding insurance issues for clients
- Monitor the private insurance AR
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with medical or mental health insurance billing.
- Working knowledge of types of insurance policies, including (but not limited to) PPO, HMO, EPO, and POS plans.
- Prior experience working with relevant insurance companies, which include (but are not limited to) BlueCross Blue Shield, Tricare, Aetna, United States Family Health Plan, Medicare Third-Party Supplemental plans, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office tools, such as Excel and Word
- Proficiency with copier and fax machines.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Good organization and time management skills
- Strong Customer Service skills.
- Must function effectively under stress and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to act as a liaison between the front office and the billing team
- Attention to detail
- High school diploma
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Pass a criminal background check and provide a negative drug screen
