Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our records retrieval team. We work with Plaintiff attorneys to coordinate obtaining the medical and billing records they need to process the legal case. The ideal candidate will join an extremely focused team in its pursuit of cutting through the delays and delivering records to the attorney's office in the quickest, most efficient way possible while handling the following tasks:
Responsibilities
- Request medical records, billing records, and accompanying affidavits for all orders submitted.
- Responsible for the accuracy of affidavits and final records product that is delivered.
- Responsible for relentlessly following up via phone and email with all medical providers until all associated records are received internally.
- Make payments as the medical providers respond to requests with invoices.
- Responsible for ensuring that all medical files are arranged, accurate with affidavits and delivered to the attorney's office who ordered them.
- Perform data entry/log/document all calls with provider offices.
- Assist with filing, scanning, and archiving of digital records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical records retrieval is a plus.
- Previous experience as a records clerk in a medical office, law office, or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficient in using computers and various software applications related to medical records retrieval. Programs used daily include Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobate, Google sheets and drive.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with medical providers. Assertive phone skills and etiquette is essential.

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
