What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director-Kickapoo Casino position at Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma?
This position organizationally falls under the supervision of the Executive Director and/or the Business Committee of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Operational hours are Monday through Friday; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M, or as may be needed to effectively manage the Human Resource department to better serve the employees. The applicant has the overall responsibility for providing support to the Kickapoo Tribe Department Directors with the recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitor, employee relation, employee counseling, compensation and benefits administration, implementation and administration of human resource department.
Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
Tasks are as follows, but not limited to:
1. Assists in communicating policies and procedures & promote understanding within the tribal organization.
2. Recruits for vacant and/or temporary positions as required by the Personnel Policies, schedules interviews for department directors, upon selection by department director, prepares selection letters, and initiates the hiring process.
3. Responsible for processing all new hire, termination, and change of status forms with the payroll department.
4. Serves as employee liaison to assist in problem resolution with issues related to benefit deductions and pay.
5. Reminds and assists in enrollment, provide advice on enrolling, schedules on-training/enrollments for open enrollment, supplemental insurance and 401K enrollments.
6. Reminds all departments of performance evaluations; provides technical assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations.
7. Schedules and implements various on-site training opportunities for all staff.
8. Provides basic counseling to staff who has performance related obstacles.
9. Administer employee benefit programs, answer employee questions, support claim resolution, and maintain related systems.
10. Focus on the performance review process & provides employees and managers with information about the process, policies, job duties, and process for promotion.
11. Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Must be flexible in order to undertake a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Human Resources, with 3-years’ experience in a Tribal Human Resource department, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Must have proficient knowledge in following areas: human resource management, performance review techniques and methods, job description, staffing, training, recognition, development, delegation, mentoring and coaching.
· Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
· Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
· Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
· Ability to read, understand, follow, and provide procedures of policies.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
