What are the responsibilities and job description for the PURCHASING MANAGER position at KidsPeace?
The Purchasing Manager will directly manage personnel with the distribution center and oversee procurement procedures. The position will provide a strong commitment to customer service and achieve company goals, which include vendor negotiations and reduction of costs. This position will employ procedures which are efficient in negotiation and conducting complex procurement activities.
Job Duties / Essential Functions
1. Able/qualified to use material handling equipment associated with a warehouse operation
2. Responsible for maintaining accurate data within the Purchasing and Inventory modules of Lawson
3. Establish and manage optimum inventory levels to meet business demands
4. Continually pursue best pricing, service and trade terms
5. Manage vendor relationships
6. Responsible for day to day smooth operations of warehouse and related services
7. Ensure that all necessary approval levels and purchasing authorities are followed
8. Participated in all necessary committees or work groups as related to procurement and facilities activities
9. Manage warehouse coordinator and fill in as necessary
10. All other duties as assigned by management.
Pay range: $22.00-$23.00 an hour.
Qualifications (Education, Training and Experiences)
1. Bachelors Degree required.
2. Prior experience in purchasing, accounts payable and / or warehouse setting preferred.
3. Excellent customer service and negotiating skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills.
5. Must possess the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects.
6. Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
7. Must be at least 21 years of age.
8. Must have a valid Driver’s License
