The Impact You Will Make
The Senior Specialist Lab Inventory and Purchasing will support the Analytical and Development Services organization with the control, monitoring, ordering and stocking of consumable supplies and materials as part of the Global Lab Services group. This role will understand inventory requirements and purchasing needs to work with vendors/suppliers to ensure timely distribution of necessary inventory. This role will also work with our business owners for purchasing and inventory management to ensure the needs of Analytical and Development Services are met in a compliant and efficient manner.

Support new product development/design transfer by procuring new lab materials as required

Inventory Management System Development
Supports the creation, execution and maintenance of an inventory management system for Analytical and Development Services
Supports the creation of appropriate SOPs and WIs for effectively managing inventory
Forecast and Inventory Management
Work with the Director, Lab Supply Chain to understand the forecast and demands of services to ensure appropriate stock level of consumables and materials
Receive and document consumable inventory and materials as they are brought into the building
Set up and manage stock quantities in the designated stock room
Set up regular physical inventories to ensure accurate recording and tracking of inventory
Work closely with Lab Operations to understand purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery from suppliers
Create requisition for the purchase of consumables and materials
SOPs
Follow all SOP and financial requirements for the request and purchasing of consumables
Ensure safe practices in the receipt, handling and storage of various consumables and materials including flammables and hazardous materials
Continuously improve inventory management processes and log lessons learned to share key learning and insights within the organization in support of collective knowledge bases.
KPIs
Actively participate in quarterly business review meetings with suppliers
Monitor and provide updates on purchases to ensure timely deliveries.
Escalate and resolve delays or discrepancies in purchased items as necessary
Supplier Selection and Business Reviews
Actively participate in business reviews
Ensure the right mix of suppliers to support current and future business needs
Obtain information on supplier capabilities, supply chain and their risk mitigation strategies
Cost Savings
Work with the Global Lab Supply Chain Team to create a sustainable long term cost savings portfolio
Other responsibilities as assigned which might include responsibilities for another site
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (supply chain or business management discipline is preferred but not essential)
Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or chemical industry
Knowledge/experience of pharmaceutical products
Good Pharma or chemical material knowledge
Strong knowledge and awareness of GMP and DEA practices
Cross functional team experience
System Experience: Familiarity with D365, LIMS, MasterControl, SAP
Other Skills: Microsoft Office Suite including strong communication skills

Salary : $64,000 - $84,800
