JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the supervision and daily operations of a Medical Practice Clinic. Ensures efficient workflow and staff performance by managing employee activities in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws. Oversees payroll entry and review, staff scheduling, and the coordination of monthly team meetings to communicate updates related to the department, KDMC initiatives, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction. Conducts annual competencies and validations for both clinical and non-clinical staff. Ensures timely submission of requested information and maintains compliance with regulatory standards, including but not limited to JCAHO, State, Medicare, Medicaid, OSHA, and insurance requirements.

Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
Assesses daily clinical and clerical processes and implements method to optimize patient flow; assesses patient's complaints and health care needs, documents vital signs, height, weight, chief complaint, duration of complaint, and current medications on each visits to clinic; observes patient to detect symptoms outside of established normal limits. Read and understands medical record.
Identifies basic patient and family educational needs and supports the delivery of patient education as directed by the provider. Recognizes potential safety risks and follows universal precautions and emergency procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and team members. Responds appropriately to emergency situations by notifying the appropriate staff immediately.
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. Obtains and transmits additional patient information or medical records as requested. Uses Clinical View to access lab results and flags abnormal findings for provider review. Assists with calling in prescriptions or refills to the pharmacy as directed by the provider.
Takes initiative to support the clinic team by assisting coworkers when able. Maintains inventory and orders clinical supplies. Participates in department work improvement or quality projects.
Completes work and documentation with accuracy within the established time frame; demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures applicable to own job position; adheres to KDMC and departmental policies and procedures; incorporates the information from formal and informal customer satisfaction surveys into daily practice.
Demonstrates awareness of the budget and attempts to maintain within the limits, saving measures; provides information and assistance to co-workers and other customers; responds cooperatively to supervisory directions.
Orients new nurses, medical assistants or support staff to clinic operations. Supervises/directs employees' and activities of the medical practice clinic he/she supervises; Obtains and submits requested information as requested; supports Practice Manager and/or other Leaders in the growth, development and management of the clinics day-to-day operations.

Minimum requirement:

High School Diploma or GED
Maintains active LPN Licensure in the State of Kentucky and other NLC state with multistate privileges or maintains Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
Prior experience performing phlebotomy and EKG's
Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Three years prior experience as a LPN or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
