Salary Information
The salary range for a Credentialled SLP is $89,186 - $115,870, which includes a $1,500 stipend per FTE. For an SLP on a Variable Term Waiver, the salary range is $84,644 - $111,328, also including a $1,500 stipend per FTE.
Job Description
A Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for administering therapy to children to remediate and improve communicative disorders in areas such as articulation, language, fluency, and voice.
- Determine the need for speech and language services by surveying or screening students and identifying those who require assistance.
- Evaluate students through appropriate tests and conferences to diagnose or assess their communication abilities.
- Establish priorities for remediation and schedule cases for individual or group therapy sessions.
- Administer therapy procedures aimed at correcting or improving communication disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, support services personnel, and parents to coordinate services and provide coordination of these services.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and submit required state reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential: Language, Speech and Hearing. Additionally, they should have relevant course work and educational preparation for providing therapy to students with communicative disorders. A philosophy and educational standards of excellence consistent with those of the district and community are essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, relate positively to young people, and maintain a professional appearance, grooming, and personality.
