What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Shop Clerk position at Kingsmill Resort?
Overview: This position is responsible primarily for guest and customer service that includes but is not limited to phone etiquette, proper tee time and tee sheet management, cash control, assisting customers with merchandise sales and stocking merchandise along with keeping the shop clean and assisting professional staff with tournament set-up. Reports to the Director of Golf and professional staff.
Responsibilities:
- Greets golfers and responds to any course questions.
- Performs computer log in and entries, views lesson scheduler, works with POS, sells and books tee times, and bills customers
- Provides members and guests with assistance and customer service
- Performs tee time and tee sheet management
- Performs cash control, works with a cash bank, performs end of shift cash out returns cash to audit per policy
- Maintains facility cleanliness by dusting, sweeping and vacuuming facility
- Performs retail associate functions including: stocking, pricing and selling merchandise
- Assists staff with tournament set-up
- Follows all policy, procedures and service standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate and interact with course guests and be friendly and outgoing
- Must have professional presentation and strong customer service skills
- Knowledge and ability to navigate though various software systems; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Possess valid state Drivers’ License
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 90 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, to bend at waist and perform repetitive hand, wrist and foot action
- Good hand/eye/foot coordination required
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays
- Prior retail or sales experience in a golf shop, preferred
- High School or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
