The People and Culture Generalist role is essential in managing and developing our compensation frameworks, administering benefits, and maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies, ensuring our company remains a supportive and well sought-out place to work. Responsibilities:
- Compensation & Payroll:
- Work with operations to develop competitive pay structures and compensation strategies.
- Organize and manage an effective compensation structure that is integrated with all operations.
- Define clear pay ranges for all roles, enhancing transparency in earning potential.
- Conduct market analysis and participate in salary surveys to ensure competitive salary ranges.
- Collaborate with operations leaders to administer salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentive programs.
- Work closely with accounting to process and audit payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee administration of benefits programs including healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans.
- Manage the annual open enrollment process and maintain relationships with brokers and vendors.
- Administer 401(k) plans, including compliance, reporting, and employee education.
- Evaluate and recommend benefit plan improvements to meet employee needs and align with corporate objectives and industry best practices.
- Manage leave processes (FMLA, short-term disability, and paid leave) with a focus on clear communication and employee support.
- Compliance, Company Policies, and Records Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, multiple state, and multiple local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FLSA, etc.).
- Maintain and update company policies and employee handbooks.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance in employee recordkeeping and people and culture operation processes.
- Works with safety director as need and maintains OSHA postings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Assist with employee investigations, terminations, and performance improvement plans
- Collaboration:
- Reports to the Director of People and Culture.
- Part of the People & Culture team and works closely with administration and accounting departments.
- Willingness to travel to other offices if necessary.
What you bring:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
- 3 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on compensation, benefits, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- SHRM certification or similar (a plus).
Annual Salary: $65,000 to $72,000
Bonuses are awarded at discretion, not guaranteed.
