KLR Executive Search Group is proud to partner with our Client, US Sailing, to identify the Organization’s new Controller.
The Opportunity:
US Sailing is seeking an experienced and analytical Accounting Professional with strong business acumen and the ability to drive the Organization's financial operations and improve financial performance. Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will be responsible for developing the Organization’s overall financial plans and policies, managing its accounting practices, establishing appropriate internal controls, and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of its financial records. The Controller will play a critical role in partnering with the CEO and senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making and support business operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop the strategic operating plans and associated budgets with a particular emphasis on monitoring financial performance and resource allocation.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the Finance Committee.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts.
The Successful Candidate will bring:
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting is preferred.
- Highly knowledgeable with MS Excel and other MS Office products.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred.
