Full Charge Bookkeeper & Administrative Lead
Location: Kolcun Tree Care – Bluffton, SC
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Compensation: $23-30 per hour (based on experience)

Kolcun Tree Care has been serving the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire for over 25 years, providing high-quality tree care services while fostering strong relationships with clients and team members. As our company grows, we are seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper & Administrative Lead to oversee financial management and administrative operations. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, along with expertise in QuickBooks Online and experience in the service industry is highly preferred (landscaping, construction, or similar trades).
Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, and office administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of optimizing administrative processes while supporting a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate financial records
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and petty cash transactions
- Oversee staff reimbursements, mileage tracking, and expense reports
- Handle insurance renewals, audits, and compliance documentation
- Develop and improve administrative processes for greater efficiency
- Supervise and support administrative staff
- Maintain financial records for equipment purchases, sales, and loans
- Prepare and present weekly financial reports for leadership review
- Serve as the primary contact for the CPA and vendors
Leadership & Administrative Duties
- Lead and support administrative staff, delegating tasks effectively
- Implement best practices for bookkeeping and office management
- Train team members on financial procedures and QuickBooks Online
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflow, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 5 years of bookkeeping and administrative leadership experience, preferably in the service industry (landscaping, construction, or similar trades).
- Expertise in QuickBooks Online (this is a must!)
- Strong understanding of AP/AR, payroll, and financial reconciliation
- Experience managing insurance renewals, audits, and vendor negotiations
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with leadership skills in office management
- Excellent communication skills for working with vendors, leadership, and external partners
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to improve processes and efficiency
- Local to Bluffton or Hilton Head with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Preferred (but not required):
- Prior leadership experience in financial management
- Background in landscaping, tree care, construction, or related industries
- Experience implementing new financial systems or office management tools
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $23 - $30 per hour (based on experience)
- Paid Holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the full business week between Christmas Eve & New Year’s Day
