Responsibilities
- Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
- Conduct client interviews to gather comprehensive case information.
- Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other court documents.
- Conduct research on pertinent laws, regulations, and legal articles to aid in case preparation.
- Offer legal advice to clients regarding their removal proceedings and potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
- Stay updated on new laws and regulations pertaining to immigration and removal proceedings.
- Participate in client meetings and legal consultations.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in one of our operating states (Maryland, Florida, California) or willingness to obtain admission.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, with a specific focus on removal proceedings.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively.
- Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Education: JD Degree
- Maryland State Bar (Required), West Virginia or Pennsylvania (Beneficial)
- Experience: Two years of immigration law experience.
- Bilingual: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Beneficial)
