We are searching in the manufacturing area for a PLC programmer for a temporary assignment to design, develop, and manage all aspects of the project related to reconfiguring a current EOL tester from C to PLC ladder logic. The responsibilities include planning, implementing, and upgrading computer-integrated manufacturing systems for our Willis, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages projects to specify, install, and debug logic, controllers, and associated input/output controllers. Completes projects within specified timelines.
  • Plans and executes physical wiring connections between equipment components and PLC controller, following industry integrity and operator safety standards.
  • Confer with users to gain an understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions about program intent, data input, output requirements, and the inclusion of internal checks and controls.
  • Interface regularly with Process Control, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel on all assigned control systems.
  • Maintain and improve the manufacturing real-time data acquisition and control systems to increase reliability, accuracy, and speed.
  • Document and map processes in multiple areas to understand needs, inefficiencies, and sources of error. Then, the processes can be improved by modifying existing logic and HMI or developing new ones.
  • Document programming changes, problems, and resolutions for future reference and change control management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical engineering, or a relevant field. M.S. degree is highly desirable.
  • At least three years of experience in Programmable logic controller controls, R.S. View, and VBA scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and accountability for assigned projects.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support automated software systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and rectifying various controller and electrical problems across multiple platforms.
  • Proven experience of taking initiative and having a strong sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated individual
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in the US

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
