Job Title: Temporary Accounting Manager
Location: Onsite, Costa Mesa, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 3 months (temporary)
Pay Rate: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
General Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, tax administration, cash management, and staff management, as well as daily operations within the Accounting Department. This role will also assist with the operations of the Financial Analysis & Planning department. The position will report to the VP of Accounting, Credit, and Finance.
Primary Duties:
- Review journal entries.
- Utilize proficiency with SAP to troubleshoot system issues.
- Review daily cash balances.
- Process financial consolidation.
- Utilize advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Oversee and ensure timely execution of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ensure compliance with J-SOX controls.
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries.
- Ensure all financial transactions are processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze operating results of significant entities and variances to the financial plan.
- Tax Administration:
- Process quarterly payments for federal and state income taxes.
- Ad hoc Projects:
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Professional certification (CPA or equivalent) is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff in support of the accounting function.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in general accounting and management.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondences, and memos.
- Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with internal and external customers.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficiency in basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
