Position Summary
The Mechanical Equipment Engineer I will be responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems and machinery. This role applies engineering principles to enhance equipment life, reliability, and efficiency while setting standards for new equipment. The ideal candidate will specialize in one engineering area while demonstrating proficiency in an additional focus area.
This position reports to the Manager – Mechanical Equipment Engineering and is based in Paramount, CA , with travel required to other facilities as needed.

Pay : $84k-$98k

Key Responsibilities
Core Mechanical Equipment Engineering Duties :
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve equipment performance
- Develop and present technical reports and recommendations to management.
- Provide technical expertise to maintenance teams, technicians, and plant engineers.
- Support design and implementation of new equipment
- Analyze root causes of equipment failures and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Review equipment drawings to optimize efficiency and minimize failures.
- Generate and maintain schematics, risk assessments, and compliance documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant equipment codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, NEMA).
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
Specializations
The Mechanical Equipment Engineer I will take a lead role in one specialization and a supporting role in another.
I. Mechanical Hands-On Specialization :
Diagnose and resolve mechanical system failures in collaboration with maintenance teams.Hands-on work with machinery and mechanical components as required.Document repairs and maintenance historyReverse engineer obsolete parts and identify replacement componentsDevelop spare parts lists and maintenance schedulesConduct periodic equipment inspections to recommend system upgrades.Maintain blueprint accuracy and part specification databasesII. Hydraulic Engineering Specialization (Preferred Skills) :
Read and interpret hydraulic schematicsTroubleshoot hydraulic systems, servo valves, and proportional valve controlsExperience in mechanical and hydraulic system integration is preferred.III. Furnace Engineering Specialization :

Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.Must have 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Equipment EngineerMust meet ITAR and EAR residency requirements (U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents only).Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and schematicsPrior experience with industrial equipment maintenance, design, or analysisWillingness to travel up to 30% to support other facilities.Skills & Competencies :
