What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Koroseal Interior Products?
Koroseal Interior Products is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician (for 2nd or 3rd shift; will train on 1st shift for approximately 3 months) who will have the responsibility of maintaining and repairing all types of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment at its manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
* Must be able to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and detect electrical or mechanical deficiencies/failures in the equipment.
* Ability to diagnose and repair industrial electrical controls systems: various voltages (AC and DC) [mV to 600 Volts] and phasing, signaling, logic controllers, relay controls, motors and sensors.
* Be able to understand the operational limits and safety aspects associated with each piece of equipment (pumps, valves, electrical distribution eq., electrical control systems, etc.) in the facility.
* Thorough understanding of variable frequency (AC & DC) and servo drives with the ability to troubleshoot, repair and setup stand alone and integrated systems
* Capacity to read, interpret and utilize electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings
* Possess working knowledge of basic millwright work and machine/power transmission equipment installation and alignments
* Have the skill to maintain and repair open faced gear sets, gearboxes and bearings installations and mechanical drive systems
* Capability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic control and power systems
* Familiar with facility equipment and maintenance of boilers, rotary screw air compressors, chiller systems, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, powered industrial trucks and HVAC
* Experience with hand tools, powered hand tools, stick and Mig welding and cutting torches
* Able to work in seasonal ambient environment both internally and externally, work in elevated positions and heights (ladders, mezzanines and lifts).
* Work with appropriate internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and/or to resolve quality risks when identified.
* Adhere to and promote a safe working environment. This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools and any other production related items in their place. Adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards is expected of this position.
* Be able to safely conduct a lock-out/tag-out procedure on each piece of equipment, line and device in the field.
* Be able to recognize and communicate the risks associated with each of the products, chemicals, pieces of equipment, and electrical devices located throughout the facility.
* Participate in Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) to solve problems by attempting to identify and correct the root causes of events, as opposed to simply addressing their symptoms.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Experience Required:
* Rotogravure printing and laminating experience is a plus.
* Must have experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Have a working knowledge of PLC and MLCs.
* Have a working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Education / Professional Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED, preferred
* Forklift Certified
Physical Requirements:
* sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time;
* climbing multiple flights of stairs;
* climbing ladders;
* frequently lifting a minimum of 50 lbs;
* No fear of heights
