What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Anesthesiologist for Elective Surgeries position at Korzen Health?
Korzen Health is a collaborative healthcare network in Northern Arizona, partnering with a reputable hospital system to provide high-quality patient care. As a skilled Anesthesiologist, you will join our team at Verde Valley Medical Center, working closely with 5 physician anesthesiologists and 6 CRNAs in a medical direction model.
Our department is proud to be physician-led within a physician-led hospital system, allowing us to contribute to hospital leadership and committees. This creates a positive practice environment focused on exceptional patient care.
We handle a variety of cases in 4-5 main ORs, 1-2 endo suites, and a cath lab, with a focus on outpatient elective surgeries. Our caseload includes general surgery, GI, orthopedics, breast surgery, gynecology, and urology. While we do perform regional anesthesia, we do not cover pediatrics.
This shift-based role requires 15 shifts per month, typically 8-12 hours long, with often early finishes. On weekdays, three physicians work varying shifts, with the shortest day shift ending before noon and the longest lasting until 5 pm. We require 18 calls per quarter, averaging one call night per week and one call weekend per month.
In addition to regular shifts, you can take extra shifts, which pay your hourly rate multiplied by 12 hours, plus a $500 extra shift stipend.
