Our Client is an Asian Brands CPG company, seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director for Latin America to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and expand our market share in this rapidly growing region. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build from zero, establishing and scaling sales operations in new or underdeveloped markets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market share growth across Latin America.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to drive expansion.
- Build from zero: Establish and scale sales operations in new or underdeveloped markets, including setting up distribution networks, recruiting local talent, and creating go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align sales strategies with company objectives.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a regional sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new team members in emerging markets to build a high-performing sales organization.
Key Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify and onboard new distributors and partners in untapped markets to expand the company’s footprint.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze market conditions, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
- Conduct market assessments to identify high-potential opportunities and develop actionable plans to enter new markets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., marketing, finance, operations) to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Represent the voice of the customer in product development and marketing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the CPG industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth in Latin America.
- Experience managing distributor networks and key accounts.
- Proven experience establishing and scaling sales operations in new or underdeveloped markets.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take initiative and build from the ground up.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
