kpCompanies is partnering with V3 Sports in seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance and IT to be accountable for all functions of V3 Sports including finance and information technology, in addition to ensuring legal compliance in all areas. The Director of Finance works with the Executive Director, finance and audit committee, and senior leadership team to optimize V3 Sports’ resources to ensure V3 Sports operates within their budget, is in alignment with our strategic framework and in compliance while contributing to our mission of elevating our community through wellness, fitness and education.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance and IT to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, managing resources effectively, and leading a high-performing team to achieve our mission.


REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Director of Finance reports directly to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with other senior leaders to support the strategic objectives of V3 Sports.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance and Compliance (75%)

  • Establish and facilitate a core team focused on V3 Sports finances to include financial reports, analytics, forecasts, budgets, and business models.
  • Provide support and oversight to V3 Sports’ payroll process
  • Ensure protection of V3 Sports’ assets (data and financials) by identifying risks and putting preventative policies in place.
  • Evaluate the organization’s financial performance and provide recommendations to the SLT and ED as appropriate.
  • Oversee proper allocation of and accounting for restricted funds, grants, and other forms of income in compliance with GAAP and related regulations.
  • Serve as Treasurer of V3 Sports Foundation, overseeing loan and leasing compliance, bank accounts, all required filings, and the annual audit.
  • Work with V3 Sports’ investment advisors to make sound investment decisions to increase V3 Sports portfolio.
  • Provide timely and accurate information and recommendations to V3 Sports’ board of directors to include but not limited to V3 Sports’ budget, creating financial reports, needs evaluation, etc.
  • Completes all financial audits and reports, to include 990s and other government forms, and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Lead development of capital expansion budgets (i.e. Phase 2) and development of long-range pro forma business forecasts.
  • Oversee loan compliance and lines of credit and ensure covenants are met, providing bankers and lawyers with documentation or analysis as needed.
  • Ensure employees adhere to rules governing use of technology tools and business spending.
  • Track technology assets and use of software licenses and data storage systems including SharePoint.
  • Facilitate training on V3 technology tools.




Organizational Leadership and Management (20%)

  • Work to monitor and manage organizational development to ensure resources are aligned with V3 Sports’ goals.
  • Participate as an active member of the senior leadership team.
  • Lead and manage finance and information technology departments and collaborate with the Facilities Director to support the mission, goals, and objectives of V3 Sports.
  • In collaboration with department directors, create usable capital and operating budgets for the organization and across all departments.
  • In collaboration with SLT and our accountants (currently outsourced), lead the annual and quarterly planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Manage finance, IT, and legal vendors and optimize V3 sports’ spending on vendors, third-party contracts, and other service providers.
  • Provide input on all contracts to analyze trends and risk involved.
  • Collaborate with Development team to provide insight on budget implications for all major donations and grants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required, MBA, J.D., preferred
  • 8-10 years related full time professional work experience in nonprofit, foundation, public sector, or corporate sector
  • Seven or more years of managerial level experience in finance management
  • Combination of equivalent experience and training
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to integrate multiple functions to support a culture of high trust and high expectations.
  • Knowledge of business finances and the ability to manage complex, integrated systems.
  • Skill in identifying potential legal issues and seeking outside counsel on behalf of V3 Sports as appropriate.
  • Skill in motivating, coaching, and developing staff to meet objectives, including anticipating challenges, identifying key issues and developing solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a variety of people and groups.
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures and lead staff in their implementation.
  • Ability to engage others and influence outcomes

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Work is normally performed in an office environment with frequent use of office equipment.
  • Hybrid work environment with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
  • Some travel may be required on occasion.

EQUITY AND SALARY DISCLOSURE

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
