KPMG is currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join our Office of General Counsel in our Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance organization.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess employment-related legal risks and opportunities and advise Human Resources accordingly, including those relating to leaves, FMLA, ADA and accommodations
- Counsel Human Resources and Ethics & Compliance on misconduct and other investigations relating to potential violations of federal, state and local law, professional practice standards, and/or Firm policy
- Review and analyze restrictive covenants and other restrictions in applicants' employment agreements
- Coordinate with and provide advice to various levels of Firm management on employment matters
- Provide training to Firm personnel on employment related-risks relevant to the Firm
- Advise on employment law developments at the federal, state and local level and contribute to development of firm policies to comply with applicable law
- Minimum of six years of recent experience handling employment counseling and/or employment litigation, covering a broad range of employment-related topics, in a leading law firm, large corporate environment or government entity
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university; J.D. and/or LL.M. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the U.S
- Experience with counselling on or litigating matters involving leaves, FMLA, ADA and accommodations preferred
- Thought leadership and strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations, and the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility and character
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively and work collaboratively in an inclusive manner with individuals at all levels, including senior leadership
- Outstanding analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills
