Kratos Space & Missile Defense Systems (Kratos) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support various vehicle development programs. Kratos is known for performing launch vehicle flight services for the US military, NASA, and foreign allies all over the world. All efforts are managed "end-to-end" and include mission planning, design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and launch operations in an agile environment.
Kratos is well known for performing launch vehicle operations all over the world and has performed several hypersonic missions over the last decade, rapidly advancing capabilities for the US and Foreign Allies.
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will participate in design and analysis of unguided and guided suborbital launch vehicle structures and mechanisms. Mechanical engineering applicants would be responsible for analyzing flight vehicles and subsystems.

PRIMARY -
- Design launch vehicle components and structures given specified flight loads.
- Generate engineering drawings and flight vehicle renderings of mission specific configurations for use in engineering reports and presentations.
- Analyze launch vehicle components and structures using FEA methods.
- Determine margins of safety for launch vehicle components and structures for specified Factors of Safety.
SECONDARY -
- Generate test plans and test reports for structural load and deployment testing of flight structures, separation systems and fin structures.
- Support mechanical testing of flight vehicle structures and mechanisms.
Experience and Skills
Experience and Skills:
Required -
- Sound knowledge of engineering concepts.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred -
- Previous experience working with Solidworks software.
Education & Experience:
- Enrolled in an accredited BS Degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
