About The Role
Our team is currently looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to be based in Portsmouth, NH, who will develop a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects with a focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of complex civil systems. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in the field of civil engineering to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute office and field engineering projects, including major design and construction projects for clients across North America and beyond
- Prepare detailed plans, calculations, and specifications for a wide array of engineering projects.
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for civil and multidiscipline engineering projects.
- Conduct or oversee engineering construction inspections for assigned projects.
- Perform or manage testing and inspections of drawings and materials.
- Draft comprehensive engineering reports detailing the progress and completion of projects.
- Carry out or oversee field surveys as required throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and deliver presentations on proposed and ongoing projects to KOA staff and clients.
- Participate in the material procurement process by preparing detailed specifications and reviewing vendors’ quotations for technical accuracy.
- Utilize prepared engineering documents as part of comprehensive bid packages to enable accurate contractor bids. Evaluate returned bids for completeness and pricing and select and approve contractors.
- Pursuing ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance engineering skills and knowledge.
- Education: BS in Civil Engineering
- PE Licensure: Highly desired with the ability to pursue multi-state licensure.
- 5 years of experience in Civil and/or Industrial engineering design
- Skilled in effectively communicating and collaborating with Krech Ojard staff, external organizations, and client representatives.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in industry codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, CFR, ICC)
- Experience with the permitting process necessary to execute both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Knowledge of typical site plan layout and industrial equipment placement to aid in ease of operation and maintenance.
- Experience with site visits, taking precise field measurements, making and interpreting the resulting calculations
- Knowledge and application of the principles and practices of CAD development and creation of drawing packages at various stages of design development
- Experience with Auto Cad, Civil 3d, and other necessary software’s.
