About The Role
Our team is currently looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to be based in Portsmouth, NH that will develop a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects with a focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of complex structural systems. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in the field of structural engineering to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing structural calculations and conducting dynamic and static structural analysis to assess structures under various loading conditions and environmental factors
- Preparing detailed plans, specifications, and design packages for structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
- Planning and performing field structure assessments, overseeing field data collection, and conducting quality control inspections and tests on structural components
- Investigating and diagnosing structural issues, implementing effective repairs or modifications, and developing detailed equipment specifications for facilities and infrastructures
- Preparing proposals, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and delivering presentations on proposed and ongoing projects to internal staff and clients
- Working directly with clients to develop project options and alternatives, provide engineering guidance, and develop and maintain client relationships in the marine sector
- Collaborating with multi-discipline groups within KOA to develop and deliver integrated projects, taking an active leadership role in the design and development of marine projects
- Participate in the material procurement process by preparing detailed specifications and reviewing vendors’ quotations for technical accuracy.
- Utilize prepared engineering documents as part of comprehensive bid packages to enable accurate contractor bids. Evaluate returned bids for completeness and pricing and select and approve contractors.
- Pursuing ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance engineering skills and knowledge.
- Education: BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
- PE Licensure: Highly desired with the ability to pursue multi-state licensure.
- 5 years of experience in civil and structural engineering design and construction, and inspection
- Knowledge and application of the principles and practices of CAD development and creation of drawing packages at various stages of design development
- Knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Krech Ojard staff, individuals from other organizations, and client representatives
- Experience working collaboratively with Engineering designers
- Demonstrated knowledge of project lifecycle and ability to manage complex engineering and multidiscipline projects
- Experience developing design packages and alternatives from concept to construction using AutoCAD or Revit software packages.
