Kress is looking for a full time Buyer I to join our Purchasing team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Buyer I will work with the team quoting and purchasing material, services and shop related items to support the manufacturing of specialty off-highway vehicles.

Buyer I
Kress is looking for a full time Buyer I to join our Purchasing team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Buyer I will work with the team quoting and purchasing material, services and shop related items to support the manufacturing of specialty off-highway vehicles.
Responsibilities –
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Identify and vet new and potential suppliers
- Process purchase orders (PO’s) in a timely manner
- Manage the purchasing of external steel fabrications, steel cut components, outside processes, and bronze components
- Complete purchases for made to print items
- Verify purchase orders (PO’s) are processed correctly and in a timely manner
- Follow-up with vendors
- Cultivate relationships
- Navigate within Infor ERP
- Support purchasing team in researching, analyzing, and forecasting buying trends
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or equivalent prior experience
- Minimum 2 years’ buying experience
- Basic understanding of heavy equipment service or manufacturing
- Basic understanding of business-to-business commerce
- Prior procurement experience a plus
- APICS Certification a plus
- Infor experience a plus
- Must have the ability to think on your feet and pivot when needed
