Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining payroll functions within the organization. This role ensures compliance with company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of pay systems, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, including hourly and salaried staff
- Review and verify timecards, PTO, and hours worked
- Calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, deductions, and withholdings
- Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and internal policies
- Prepare and distribute paychecks and initiate direct deposits
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Assist with payroll audits and respond to inquiries from employees, managers, and external agencies
- Generate payroll related reports
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll and tax regulations
- Other duties assigned
Required Skills:
- Proven experience working in payroll or related financial role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Education and Experience Requirements:
