REPORTS TO:        Parts Sales & Marketing Manager

FLSA STATUS:       Exempt

 

The role is located in Lincolnshire, IL (north of Chicago).  This is a hybrid role (after 30 days).

Salary Range:  $95k-115k Depending on Experience

Job Description Summary

The Parts Support Sales Manager supports the development and expansion of sales and capabilities for the parts business.

Works directly with customers to build strong relationships and provide premier product support. Collects, manages, and analyzes data to drive product development, ensure competitiveness, and meet sales targets.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

-        Promote and market all parts, services, and programs to customers.

-        Parts Sales and Support: Transform opportunities into sales. Support and close sales, working directly with OEMs, distributors, and dealers.

-        Guide customers in understanding Kubota programs, policies and systems.  

-        Develop & maintain products, programs, and marketing materials to expand parts sales.

-        Gather key business data to drive business decisions and focus: Develop relationships and systems to gather VOC and market intelligence.

-        Analyze data and input from distributors, dealers, customers, markets, competitors, etc.

-        Maintain competitive intelligence. Understand opportunities, trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape to an expert level.

-        Build a clear understanding and business knowledge of our customers’ business to drive continuous growth in parts sales & capabilities.

-        Support development and maintenance of eCommerce business strategy and build/maintain business processes for eCommerce.

-        Support Distributor KPI program for parts area; manage KPI scoring & ensure communication to distributors.

-        Develop distributor and dealer inventory to improve customer facing fill rate.

-        Manage and develop remanufactured products business & core processes; provide core reporting to management and finance department.

-        Implement and execute projects, processes, and systems with relevant stakeholders, including both internal and external customers.

-        Project and program management: Manage activities and critical paths to adhere to project deadlines and target dates. 

-        Maintain competitive knowledge by establishing professional networks; attend seminars, tradeshows and other events.

-        Interact with customers to identify risks for loss of market share. Develop recommendations to minimize the risk.

-        Plan and execute market research to identify customer requirements, needs, and opportunities.

-        Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in compiling sales forecasts for aftermarket products.

-        May be expected to perform contract negotiations and service agreements with suppliers.

-        Work with the pricing analyst and assist with aftermarket pricing projects.

-        Prepare travel and project reports as required.

-        Maintain an organized and secure work environment.

-        Support co-workers in other departments as needed.

-        Inform Manager of all noteworthy activities.

-        Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-        Excellent analytical skills: Ability to analyze large amounts of data

-        Knowledge of functionality of engine components

-        Basic cost accounting and financial analysis skills

-        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to coach and lead customers, develop/maintain strong relationships, mitigate and resolve disagreements.

-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be reliable and punctual

-        Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines.  Maintain a positive attitude, with a flexible approach towards assignments.

-        Highly organized, thriving in an evolving and fast paced environment

-        Ability to comprehend an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written

-        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.

-        Strong problem-solving skills and discernment for various decisions such as initial stock recommendations, competitive parts pricing positions, and material determinations

-        Working knowledge of word processing, presentation, and database applications 

-        Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications

-        Advanced knowledge of SAP

-        Ability to travel on an as needed basis, possibly overnight, often with last minute notice

 

Education and Training

-        Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline or Business Management

-        8-10 years prior experience in aftermarket parts sales and operations, preferably with engines or industrial/construction equipment

-        5 years prior experience in competitive market analysis or business analysis for aftermarket parts, pricing, procedures, and product launch/development  

-        3-5 years prior experience in Sales or Product Support for distributors and OEMs

-        2-3 years prior experience in developing remanufactured part programs

 

Physical Demands

-        Sitting for long periods of time with some walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching

-        Dexterity to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists

-        Movement by holding, turning, and grasping objects

-        Reaching by extending hands in any direction

-        Ability to drive a car and travel by air

-        Ability to hear normal conversations on phone or in person

-        Ability to see more than 20 feet

-        Ability to see color and see/read computer screen

 

Work Environment

-        Work is performed in an office environment.  Noise level is moderate

-        Limited exposure to the warehouse.  Limited exposure to temperature variations when shipping doors are open

-        While traveling, will experience noise and comfort levels common to automobiles and airplanes

-        Computer and other general office equipment 

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
