Kuukpik Corporation was established in 1973 under the provisions of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). It owns the surface rights to portions of the Colville River Delta, located 50 miles west of Prudhoe Bay.
Kuukpik Corporation successfully negotiated a comprehensive surface-use agreement. This agreement established provisions for education, training, preferences in contracting, employment, and the environment for the village of Nuiqsut.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The Director of Shareholder Services leads and oversees the Shareholder Services department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and support to Kuukpik Corporation shareholders. This role also involves the administration and oversight of the Kuukpik Foundation, which provides financial assistance for community outreach in bereavement, medical support, and education funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Kuukpik Corporation
o Oversee the Shareholder Liaisons activities, ensuring shareholder requests and concerns are resolved effectively.
o Develop strategies to improve shareholder engagement and satisfaction.
o Lead the coordination of Kuukpiks yearly elections, annual meetings, and informational meetings.
o Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to shareholder records and activities.
o Implement reporting and tracking systems for shareholder concerns and activities to improve transparency and service quality.
o Oversee the maintenance of confidential shareholder records and ensure data integrity.
o Review and approve monthly and annual reports to the Kuukpik Board and management regarding shareholder concerns and activities.
o Partner with the Accounting and Finance Department to support accurate dividend distribution and ensure smooth operational workflows.
o Monitor trends and feedback from shareholders to recommend innovative solutions for challenges and opportunities.
Kuukpik Foundation
o Manage the Foundations financial assistance programs for death benefits, health benefits, and educational funding.
o Develop and maintain policies and procedures for equitable and efficient fund distribution.
o Monitor and report on the Foundations financial status and the impact of its programs.
o Collaborate with shareholders to identify opportunities for enhancing assistance programs.
Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Shareholder Liaisons and their responsibilities, ensuring all shareholder-related activities align with the corporations strategic objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven leadership and management skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
Proficiency in data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including shareholders, board members, and the executive team.
Deep understanding and sensitivity to Iupiat culture, with the ability to integrate cultural values into decision-making processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience in shareholder services or a related field.
Experience managing financial assistance programs or foundations preferred.
Proficiency in the Iupiaq language is highly desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
