Job Summary
L.A. Burdick Chocolates, celebrated for its exquisite artisanal chocolates, pastries, and drinking chocolates is hiring a Full-time Pastry Chef to join our team in our beautiful new store in Coolidge Corner , Brookline, MA. The Pastry Chef will oversee all aspects of the bakery operations, and take pride in our brand, offering our guest a delectable culinary experience. Must enjoy working with people and working as a team.
Pastry Chef Duties
- General baking experience
- Develop a thorough understanding of L.A. Burdick products and brand standards
- Must follow and uphold the company’s operational standards
- Prepare dough for baked goods, pie crust, croissants, tartlets, cookies etc.
- Internal ordering and kitchen related inventory
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by complying with company procedures and regulations
- Extremely organized
- Experience applying ServSafe standards and/or certification
- Responsible for ensuring the kitchen is fulling stocked and goods are rotated.
- Must follow all processes, recipes and procedures to ensure brand expectations are the same at all locations.
- May be assigned other duties as needed

- Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons
- Reliable, honest, hardworking, and committed
- Ability to accurately weigh, count, measure, and perform basic math such as addition and subtraction
- Proficient in laminated doughs, croissant making, pie doughs and batters, cookie making and finishing/glazing products
- Enthusiastic about fine chocolates, pastries, and beverages
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to stand for a full shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
