As a Baker at Rita's Catering, you will have the opportunity to showcase your baking skills while working in a dynamic and creative environment. You will be an integral part of our team, responsible for producing a wide range of delicious baked goods that delight our clients and their guests.
Your new job description will include the following responsibilities:
1. Bakery Department Management: You will be responsible for overseeing the entire bakery department, including the management of product quality, inventory control, and coordination of staff.
2. Menu Development: As the head of the bakery department, you will be responsible for creating innovative menus, ensuring a diverse selection, and staying up-to-date with culinary trends to keep our offerings fresh and appealing.
3. Baking and Pastry Preparation: Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts, while following established recipes and production schedules.
4. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of baked items, paying attention to taste, texture, appearance, and presentation.
5. Inventory Management: Assist in managing bakery inventory, including monitoring ingredient levels and informing the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
6. Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning and sanitizing baking equipment and tools regularly to meet health and safety standards.
7. Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth food production, efficient service, and effective communication.
8. Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and health regulations, as well as Rita's Catering's standard operating procedures.
9. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and clients when necessary, providing information about bakery products and taking special orders.
10. Recipe Development: Contribute to the development of new bakery items and be open to experimenting with recipes and techniques.
11. Employee Training: Your role will involve training and developing the skills of all bakery department employees. This will include mentoring, coaching, and conducting regular training sessions to maintain high standards.
12. Work Schedule: Your work schedule will be adjusted to Monday through Friday, with one day every weekend when operational needs demand. Your flexibility in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
13. Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Chef who will provide guidance and support as you navigate your expanded role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
