La Josie, a family-owned Bib Gourmand Mexican restaurant on Randolph Row, has been serving family recipes and supporting the best agave distillers from all regions of Mexico since May of 2017. In just a few short years, La Josie has become a beloved destination to eat, drink, and socialize in the West Loop. Besides our exceptional food menu, we pride ourselves on our unparalleled Agave program and one of the most meticulously-crafted cocktail menus in Chicago, we are constantly experimenting, refining, and learning more about the indigenous agave distillates of Mexico.
La Josie/Solazo is looking to add an experienced, passionate, charismatic, Full-time event coordinator to oversee events and catering for both locations. The ideal candidate is someone who will be team-oriented, who want to be with us long-term, with a desire to provide an unforgettable hospitality experience. Compensation for this role is Hourly, plus commission.
Requirements
- Motivated, innovative and experienced
- Special attention to detail regarding organization and service.
- 3 years of FOH experience
- Flexible availability mornings, evenings and weekends (Including Sundays)
- Bilingual, Spanish
- knowledge or interest in learning more about Agave spirits & Mexican cuisine
Essential Duties & Responsibilties
- 32 - 40 Hours per week
- Abilty to work under pressure with grace and ease
- Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude with a team player mindset
- Love for exceptional food, modern drink and exquisite style
- Oversee and respond to guests inquiries
- Create BEO and oversee events and catering orders
- Maintain a polished posture and presentation
- Events binder and menus up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
- Basset, food handlers, allergens certifications
- Willingness to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Toast POS, 7-shifts and Slack is preferred
Physical demands and work enviorment
- Ability to be flexible and open-minded about job demands
- Ability to move, handle and set up catering boxes (generally between 0-50 lbs.)
- Must be able to stand, walk, move during entire shift including frequent bending and stooping
