We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires proficiency in medical software systems and a solid understanding of medical records management, ensuring that patient information is accurately maintained and accessible.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary payments.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including care plans and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic and Eaglesoft to input patient data, update files, and retrieve information as needed.
- Assist with coding using ICD-9 for billing purposes, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient needs and appointment scheduling.
- Handle phone inquiries, providing information about services offered and assisting with any questions or concerns from patients.
- Support the administrative team with various clerical tasks as required to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar position preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, particularly Epic and Eaglesoft.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and care plans.
- Proficient typing skills with the ability to navigate computerized systems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive patient information.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
