Position Summary:
LaAmistad Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Birth to Five Coordinator to join our team. This role is vital in supporting our youngest community members and their families by managing and expanding our early childhood education program. The Birth to Five Coordinator will work closely with families, educators, and community partners to create a nurturing environment that promotes early learning, parent empowerment, and school readiness. This role has the potential to become full-time based on the continued expansion of the program. 20-25 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate age-appropriate educational programs for children aged birth to five.
- Design and implement curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Ensure that all programs align with LaAmistad's mission and are culturally responsive to the needs of the Latino and immigrant communities.
- Recruit and enroll caregivers into the Birth to Five program.
- Identify sites for program replication.
Family Engagement:
Build strong relationships with families to support their active involvement in their child's early learning.
- Provide resources, workshops, and training for parents to enhance their understanding of early childhood development and education.
- Serve as a liaison between families and community resources, helping families access services related to health, education, and social support.
Collaboration and Community Outreach:
- Partner with local schools, and community organizations to expand the reach and impact of LaAmistad’s Birth to Five program.
- Collaborate with other LaAmistad programs and staff to ensure continuity of care and support as children transition into formal schooling.
- Represent LaAmistad in community meetings, events, and initiatives related to early childhood education and family support.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and assess the progress and outcomes of the program, making adjustments as needed to meet goals.
- Prepare reports for the organization’s leadership and funders, highlighting program successes, challenges, and impact.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation, activities, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, program coordination, or a related role.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, culturally responsive teaching practices, and the challenges facing Latino and immigrant families.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to travel within the Atlanta area to various program sites and partner locations.
- Requires the physical mobility to sit or walk for moderate periods of time and to occasionally carry or lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate program schedules and community events.
- Must have a driver’s license, reliable source of transportation, and ability to travel to program locations or events as needed
