What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Technician position at LaBella Associates?
We are currently hiring an seasonal summer intern as an Environmental Technician in our Environmental division at our Richmond, VA office. The Environmental Technician will support environmental monitoring projects for both ecological and remediation services (such as soil management oversight, stormwater inspection oversight, wetland and stream delineations, etc.). A successful candidate will be able to perform various tasks including field work, data collection, environmental oversight on construction sites, and support project managers on various projects.
Duties
- Assist with environmental oversight at active construction sites
- Assist with records documentation and report writing
- Support field leads and project managers
- Working towards a Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology
- MS Office Suite experience
- Strong writing, organizational and communications skills
- Anticipated 30-40 hours per week
- Willingness to work on weekends, depending on schedules of active construction sites
- Ability and willingness to learn field equipment and troubleshooting methods
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Ability to walk all day over rough terrain
- Ability to travel regularly
