Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, this role also will be responsible for selling industrial parts and equipment to businesses and clients. The Purchasing Coordinator will require strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of inventory management, and experience with ERP systems. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining supplier relationships and optimizing purchasing strategies to support our operational goals. The Purchasing Coordinator will also involve understanding technical specifications, providing excellent customer service, building customer relationships and offering expert advice on the best parts for various industrial applications.
Duties
· Manage the procurement process from sourcing to contract negotiation and supplier management.
· Utilize ERP systems to forecast inventory needs and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
· Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
· Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing strategies with organizational objectives.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, supplier performance metrics, sales transactions, customer contacts and orders.
· Assist in resolving any issues related to procurement or supplier performance.
· Assist customers in selecting and purchasing industrial parts and components based on their needs and specifications.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, including contractors, engineers, and procurement managers.
· Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, providing timely and accurate information.
· Prepare and deliver quotes to clients and follow up on sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Handle returns, exchanges, or warranty claims according to company policies.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing and industrial organization.
· Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with JobBOSS2 is a plus.
· Strong contract negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and customer management, along with internal team members.
· An ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues or concerns quickly and professionally.
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to multitask and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
