Full-time Seasonal Wildland Firefighter FFT2

Seasonal Wildland FFT2 Firefighte . (NFPA FF1, EMT/ Paramedic optional with bonus pay.) Minimum NWCG FFT2 certification with 1 year experience. Employment would span from June- September. Shifts Are 10AM-6PM plus overtime at 150%, Available lodging accommodations in station is available Responding to emergencies outside of work hours are compensated.

Duties: Ability to perform duties in accordance with established fire operations and emergency medical SOGs and protocols. Demonstrate proficiency in all certification areas. Provide Initial Attack on wildland fires as part of a type 4 or Type 6 engine crew. Firefighters assigned to an engine crew operations, duties include operating the Type 3 and Type 4 6x6 or type 6 4x4 wildland engines, driving the wildland engines off-road, communicating to facilitate suppression operations. Also engage in other fire suppression work, including fireline construction, preparing fire breaks, burning out control lines, mopping up, felling small trees and cutting brush using a chainsaw. When not fighting fire, engine crews perform physical training and work projects basic facilities maintenance, apparatus maintenance, fire prevention, and structural triage.

Student or recent grad welcome. Minimum 18YO, current Oregon Driver’s license, Oregon. Must me able to pass background test. Pack Test Required, Drug Free : Wildland Firefighter NWCG / or DPSST certificate. Recommended: Oregon EMT (or higher) license. Firefighter 1, Apparatus Driver / Operator, Pumper Operator. All applicants must possess a current Oregon or NREMT or Paramedic certification at the time of application.
