Summer Camp - Van Driver

Lake Greeley Camp is a coed, overnight summer camp for children between the ages of 6-15. Residing on over 250 acres, the camp is located in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains approximately 2 hours from New York City. Warm and inviting, Lake Greeley Camp welcome children from across the United States as well as from around the world to create a diverse and exciting community. A daily program with over 60 daily activities provides campers with the opportunity to pursue their individual interests and progress at their own pace.

Responsibilities
Van drivers carry out the transportation needs of the camp. These needs include driving campers to airports, off-camp events and activities, and medical appointments. Drivers will also be asked to pick up camp supplies, if needed, and drive staff who are on their day off to predetermined locations. Drivers are responsible for the supervision of the campers they are transporting and maintain a log of vehicle maintenance and safety checks. Prior experience driving 12 and 15 passenger vans and a working knowledge of the mechanical components of a vehicle is preferable. Applicants must be individuals with high moral character, exhibit a strong work ethic, act as a positive role model, and possess the ability to provide constant supervision and mature guidance of campers and staff members. Drivers must be dependable and responsible individuals.

The primary responsibilities of a van driver include:
- Picking up and dropping off campers at airports. Navigating throughout airports and getting campers to required gates in a timely manner.
- Supervising campers while in their custody.
- Driving campers to off-camp events and activities and medical appointments.
- Driving staff on their day-off.
- Must have a valid PA driver’s license.
- Ensure proper safety standards are being met at all times.
- Conduct daily checks of camp vehicles, complete vehicle log, and notify Camp Director of any maintenance issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness of camp vehicles.
- CPR/First Aid recommended.
- Pass a background check and provide references.
- Lake Greeley Camp is a non-smoking camp.
- CLD license not necessary, but a plus.

Van drivers are members of our Leadership Team that in addition to prtoviding transportation services for the camp, help run our summer program, participate in evening activities and specials events, guide our staff and provide assistance where needed.
