Lake and Marina Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lake and Marina Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our lake and marina facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a passion for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all residents and boaters. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage staff, coordinate events, maintain facilities, and uphold environmental and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of daily operations at the marina, fuel sales, maintenance, and repair.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of marina staff, ensuring efficient scheduling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints from residents and boaters.
- Facility/Lake Inspection: Oversee maintenance of docks, boat ramps, kayak rack coordination, boat slips and other infrastructure to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Environmental Compliance: Implement and enforce environmental regulations and best practices to protect the lake ecosystem and surrounding areas. Manage the Lake Health contract (SOLitude Lake Management) and coordinate Lake Water Testing, Fish stocking, aquatic plantings and fish habitats. Manage and monitor the Lakes’ dredging and sediment programs.
- Financial Management: Monitor budgetary constraints, prepare financial reports, and recommend cost-effective measures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Event Coordination: Organize and supervise Lake events such as fishing tournaments, Lake parades, Swim across the Lake and any other Lake related events, ensuring proper planning, promotion, and execution.
- Safety and Security: Enforce boating regulations, monitor water conditions, and implement emergency response procedures to ensure the safety of all lake and marina users. Manage Lake Buoy placement, replacement, and buoy lights. Assist’s the Director of Facilities and Operations with the monitoring and regulation the Dam Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Dam Certification process and Dam inspections.
- Compliance: Stay informed about federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting lake and marina operations, ensuring full compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree preferred.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint)
- Proven experience in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
- Preferred experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of boating safety regulations and environmental stewardship practices a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in and around water.
