What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Manager position at Lakeside International Trucks?
Overview
Our Rental Manager is responsible for managing the rental fleet with heavy involvement in rental sales activity across all rental locations. Maintains focus on meeting utilization targets, new rental and lease customer acquisition, securing long-term rental business, and the overall profitable and sustainable growth of the fleet. Accountable for new business development and management of current lease and rental accounts to ensure highest levels of customer service and retention.
Responsibilities:
Achieve sales and profitability objectives for rental department that align with annual sales goals.
Prioritize individual daily rental sales activity – customer calls, follow-ups, visits, and prospecting
Regularly check-in with and provide activity reports to Director, Lease & Rental Sales as required
Champion the company Own Your Backyard initiative and ensure heavy market saturation in zip codes directly surrounding our dealership locations. Know every prospect and ensure they know us
Provide oversight to daily fleet activity – truck reservations & returns, strategy, assigning equipment.
Assist with providing or approving accepted rental rates or quotes as needed by sales teams
Ensure the following administrative tasks are completed:
- Billing – reviewing monthly billing, reviewing and approving invoices as needed
- Accounts Receivable 30-60 days
- Insurance certificates and credit approval
- Daily $ Report, Lot Checks, other internal reporting as needed
- IFTA – trip reports, fuel receipts, etc.
- Monthly substitute unit revenue and President’s Club data
- Damage and customer billbacks, insurance claims
Support Idealease and Lakeside customer events such as safety seminars, golf outings, etc.
Assist with hands-on training of sales staff for lease and rental sales roles
Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction in all areas of the business
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, long-term goal of moving trucks and obtaining CD
Prefer career success in B2B sales environment with comparable significance
Ability to prevent, detect, and resolve or escalate problems while maintaining profitability
Customer service focused, organized multi-tasker with high sense of urgency
Ability to make decisions and communicate quickly and effectively, verbally or in writing
Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team, interest in generating long-term results
Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office for use of Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to climb a ladder or into a truck (5-8 feet)
Periodic bending, reaching, kneeling. Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time (2 hours)
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered
