Scope of Work:
The Telestaff Expert will serve as the primary technical authority for configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the Kronos Telestaff system for Montgomery County Police. This role ensures compliance with complex union contract rules, supports system migration to Kronos Workforce Central (Cloud), and resolves operational issues. The expert will collaborate with County staff, union officials, and Kronos vendors to maintain accurate workforce management configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Configuration & Compliance:
- Configure and validate law enforcement work rules, seniority/rank assignments, and union contract requirements in Telestaff.
- Troubleshoot and resolve conflicts in Telestaff rules, security schemas, and emergency communication center workflows.
- Ensure adherence to Directives and union agreements through testing and audits.
- Technical Leadership:
- Serve as the liaison between Kronos vendors and County staff for system integrations, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Lead the transition from a server-based Telestaff system to Kronos Workforce Central (Cloud).
- Update training materials and documentation for administrators and end-users.
- Operational Support:
- Optimize callback assignments and specialized group rules (e.g., minimum hour requirements).
- Address ad-hoc Telestaff issues, including Remedy security fixes and schema formatting.
- Train County personnel on best practices for Telestaff management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work directly with union leadership to ensure system configurations meet negotiated terms.
- Report to the Deputy Director of Personnel and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on Telestaff configuration expertise, including:
- Kronos integration, law enforcement union rules, and Emergency Communication Center workflows.
- Cloud migration (Kronos Workforce Central) and server-based system management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Remedy security, Telestaff schema design, and troubleshooting.
- Certifications: Relevant Kronos/Telestaff certifications (documentation required).
- Soft Skills: Strong collaboration, training, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Background Check: Must pass County clearance.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
