What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrator, System position at Lanco?
Has a high level of knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of responsibility. Relies on instructions, pre-established guidelines, and previous career experience to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions may require exercising independent judgment. Will report to an Infrastructure Services Manager. Acts as an escalation point for technical staff, including Network Administrators, Application Teams, other Systems Administrators and Service Desk team members as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must have great communication skills; will be working with and talking with other departments and management directly/regularly. Provides updates to management teams on support and project items in a structured manner. An avid team player but can also take the reins and lead.
- Ensures proper issue identification, including scope. Engages the appropriate Technology or Business teams as needed to identify issue root cause and resolution steps when necessary.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in areas of responsibility. Designs infrastructure and support documentation as required for these areas. Performs daily environmental checks of production infrastructure environments.
- Performs pro-active platform monitoring, using enterprise monitoring tools, to resolve potential issues before they become visible.
- Identifies and implements infrastructure upgrades, application upgrades, patches, and security best practices.
- Installation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of virtualized server environments at an enterprise level, preferably Nutanix or VMWare.
- Installation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of operating system environments at an enterprise level, including Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019.
- Administration, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of enterprise device management tools, preferably Intune and Azure.
- Administration, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of enterprise mail applications, preferably Office 365.
- Administration, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of enterprise mail security tools, preferably Mimecast.
- Administration of network accounts using enterprise tools such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Administration, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of enterprise backup tools, preferably Veaam.
- Platform automation using tools such as PowerShell.
- Design and delivery of status reports for production infrastructure using enterprise tools such as Veaam, Mimecast and PRTG. Compliance research, reporting and remediation, using enterprise tools such as Log rhythm and Office 365.
Qualifications Guidelines
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: 1-3 years in a systems administration role with demonstrated career progression. Demonstrated experience with enterprise level infrastructure and platform delivery.
Desired: Microsoft, Office 365, Azure or related certifications. Compliance reporting. DR/BCP planning and implementation.

Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is primarily an office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May work offsite in various environments; travel may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to speak clearly and communicate clearly in English. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
