Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with field, greenhouse, and laboratory activities in our alfalfa breeding program.
This seasonal position will involve tasks such as transplanting, harvesting, hoeing, sample grinding, and near-infrared (NIRS) analysis. The selected candidate will also be responsible for driving small lawn tractors and other small vehicles to help with tasks around the station.
The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail, good eye-hand coordination, and quality record keeping skills. A strong understanding of alfalfa pollination is preferred.
- Assist with field activities relating to alfalfa research
- Conduct sample grinding in a climate-controlled area with a dust collection system
- Drive small lawn tractors and other small vehicles to assist with tasks
- Assist with care and maintenance of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse
