Land Title is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Title Examiner/Title Officer. This position requires experience reviewing public records pertaining to real property and production of Commitments to Insure. Strong customer service skills and ability to work with deadlines a must. Responsibilities
- Examine condition of title to determine ownership, legal description, lien status of property and property owner, identify and set forth usage restrictions, easements and conditions of title.
- Reduce the research to a written format using the various products the underwriter and company offer to meet the title needs of the customer.
- Utilize the various County and State websites and other internet sources to research and solve problems.
- Input data into various computer programs for retrieval and use by other company personnel.
- As needed, update the title file by issuing subsequent title report or title supplement.
- Proof title products for accuracy and completeness prior to delivery to customer.
- Assist customers, lending institutions, escrow companies, seller and buyer with questions and issue resolution.
- Assist Title Assistants with business and title related questions and solutions.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attend industry related functions as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, Qualia, Streamline, Green Folders, Title Scan and others)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintain a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments within parameters of instruction given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
- Must have an excellent knowledge of underwriter’s procedures and requirements and apply the same to the title products.
- Must understand basic legal requirements, procedures and processes as they relate to real estate and title insurance products.
- Must be able to prioritize work flow and be able to quickly change work focus if priorities change.
- Minimum education – High School Graduate
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the phone.
- Must be able to formulate concise, complete and thorough thoughts in a written and verbal format.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
