Landa Spine & Orthopedic Center is seeking a dedicated and bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Front Desk/Intake Specialist to join our well-established orthopedic practice. This is a long-term opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting two high-volume surgeons who have been serving the community for over a decade. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing daily operations at our Old Bridge location and satellite offices, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Appointment Scheduling: Efficiently schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring smooth calendar management.
- Retrieving Imaging Reports and Medical Records: Ensure all necessary imaging and medical records are obtained and properly filed in patient charts before appointments.
- Answering High Call Volume: Manage a high volume of incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and routing calls to the appropriate department or team member.
- Message Handling: Accurately take and relay messages between patients and the medical team.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and assistance.
- Managing Front Desk and Office Hours: Oversee front desk operations during office hours, including checking patients in, updating patient information, and rooming patients for their appointments.
- Patient Rooming: Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring they are comfortable and prepared for their visit.
- Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including verifying patient registration packets and medical benefits.
- Insurance Processes: Help with insurance verification and manage out-of-network coverage when needed.
- Precertification: Handle the precertification process for MRI scans, injections, and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as required. This includes coordinating with insurance companies, obtaining authorization, and following up to ensure approvals are received in a timely manner.
- Travel: 1 day per week travel to satellite offices.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Bilingual Proficiency in Spanish (required).
- Ability to travel to satellite offices.
- Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient care and customer service.
- Familiarity with medical billing, insurance verification, and out-of-network coverage (preferred).
- Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion.
