Mercedes Benz of Northern Arizona located in Flagstaff, Az has an immediate position available, and we are hiring now for an Automotive Experienced Assistant Controller who will be managing accounting staff for our dealership. The ideal candidate is automotive experienced and has 3-4 years of Office Manager/ Assistant Controller experience, and has vast knowledge of all roles in an accounting office.
The Assistant Controller will be managing the financial operations of the dealership, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic recommendations to improve profitability. The Assistant Controller will work hand in hand with the GM, Management, and the Controller.
This is a Monday- Friday Opportunity.
Hours 8 A.M.- 5 P.M.
Pay: $60,000-$85,000
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations of the dealership, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory
- Working with the Controller, the Office Manager will manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and implement financial controls to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close and reporting processes
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas of improvement and provide strategic recommendations to increase profitability
- Work closely with other departments to ensure operational and financial goals are aligned
- Manage and safeguard the stores assets and ensure that internal controls are in place.
- Develop and maintain an effective cash management system.
- Assist with month-end duties at the direction of the Controller
- Assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned by the Controller
- Complete statistical data memo forms for manufacture financial statements
- Provide support in payroll processing
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive accounting office
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in dealership accounting software (CDK)
- Vehicle title work experience is strongly desired
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work additional hours as needed mid-month and month-end to complete payroll and month-end close
