Executive Director
Laramie Peak Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter that serves Converse County in northeastern Wyoming. The Director will be responsible for all operations of the shelter and its paid staff, as well as community outreach programs including the promotion of fundraising. The ideal candidate will have management experience, and experience (or the willingness to learn) to work with municipalities, writing grants, procedures, contracts, budgets, etc. Salary will be based on experience. Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and manage the day to day activity of the shelter and staff
- Prepare and manage monthly operations including employee scheduling, shelter budget, animal control intake, fundraising, and educational activities.
- Prepares for the Board of Directors monthly operating reports including shelter, shelter budget, payroll, animal control, fundraising and educational activities, and attends monthly board meetings.
- Works with the Board and Committees to develop and implement policies.
- Maintains liaison with veterinary associations and other professional organizations and rescue agencies.
- Write and apply for future grants and maintain current TNR vouchers.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills, management skills, human relations and communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
- Experience in shelter, veterinary, animal welfare, non-profit settings or the like preferred but not necessary.
- Experience developing and implementing programs, procedure and policy.
