Community Corrections Director

Larimer County
FC 2255 Midpoint, CO Other
POSTED ON 2/9/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 3/10/2025

Larimer County Community Corrections (LCCC), the gold standard for community corrections in Colorado, is seeking an experienced Community Corrections Director to drive innovation, collaboration, and impact.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the community corrections program, working with local and state stakeholders to enhance public safety and change lives. If you are a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of the criminal justice system and a commitment to excellence, we want to hear from you!

In May 2023, CJA opened its state-of-the-art all-women’s facility, bringing all women’s programming under one roof. This facility includes 56 work release beds and 120 community corrections beds, providing comprehensive, in-house substance use treatment through specialized programs like Women in Recovery (WINR), Short Term Intensive Residential Remedial Treatment (STIRRT), and a Residential Dual Diagnosis Program.

In partnership with Colorado State University, we integrate a gender-responsive, trauma-informed approach tailored to justice-involved women. As one of only three county-run community corrections programs in Colorado, LCCC offers a vital alternative to incarceration and stands out for:

  • The largest community corrections program in Colorado with top success rates.
  • Exceptional behavioral health and substance use treatment for high-risk, high-needs clients.
  • Passionate professionals committed to community safety and client success.
  • A leader in evidence-based practices and justice collaboration.

Join LCCC and lead a team transforming lives while setting the standard for excellence in community corrections.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading comprehensive programs and services for LCCC clients.
  • Managing the department’s budget and securing diverse funding sources.
  • Advocating for program funding and criminal justice reform at local, state, and legislative levels.
  • Collaborating with County departments, external agencies, and justice stakeholders.
  • Supervising and developing staff through training, evaluation, and hands-on leadership.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
  • Championing alternatives to incarceration and innovative approaches to community corrections.

What we're looking for:
  • 8 years of experience in the criminal justice system, including 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of the criminal justice system and experience managing complex, multi-source budgets.
  • Exceptional public speaking skills with experience in stakeholder collaboration and legislative testimony.
  • A hands-on leadership approach, actively engaging with staff and clients.
  • Passion for alternatives to incarceration, behavioral health programming, and substance use treatment.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain a high-performing team in a demanding environment.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to address funding, staffing, and support for high-risk populations.
To move forward in the hiring process, candidates must meet the required minimum qualifications. That said, we encourage you to think about your unique background and skills before applying. People often underestimate how their experiences match up with a role’s needs. We encourage you to apply if you meet the minimum qualifications and believe your skills and perspective can add value to this position.
  • Eight (8) years' experience in a criminal justice field, with at least five (5) years of experience in supervision and administration of criminal justice programs and staff.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Social Science, Public Administration, or a closely related field.

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire.
