Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role is essential in supporting the dental team with various tasks, from assisting during procedures to managing patient records.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including dental receptionist tasks.
- Ensure aseptic technique is followed to maintain a sterile environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental setting.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and general dentistry practices is essential.
- Understanding of anatomy related to dental health is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory.
