What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Relations Coordinator position at Lawrence Health Services?
Summary
The Community Relations Coordinator reports to the Community Relations Director and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the execution of community relations programs to increase interest in, the understanding of, and goodwill toward Lawrence Healthcare on the part of both internal and external publics. This position will execute programs to interpret facility activities and market them to the general public, medical staff, volunteers and employees using media, lectures to community groups, etc.
The Community Relations Coordinator is also responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for Lawrence Healthcare with a balanced emphasis of internal and community wellness initiatives that meet the needs of the organization and community. A primary goal of the CHNA will be focused on improving mental health, physical health, nutrition, fitness, wellness, education, and support of a healthy community. The Community Relations Coordinator will also work collaboratively with community stakeholders across Lawrence County to lead and/or support a county-based program to improve the overall health ranking of the community and its citizens.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Related college degree preferred but not required.
At least three (3) years of healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to gather and analyze data to measure program success & effectiveness of initiatives, monitor program budgets and assures appropriate expenditures of funds with detailed record keeping to all funding sources and expenditures, develop program materials, including promotional items and communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external activities through multiple venues, and act as a liaison to Lawrence Healthcare ‘s employees, hospital and clinic patients, nursing home residents, community members, business leaders, and other community stakeholders.
