What are the responsibilities and job description for the CXT Precast- Manager, Project Management position at LB Foster?
Leadership of project management department. Position is responsible for maintaining positive operating results, quality, and product/output performance as required to meet facility revenue and project and for the project management department in effectively moving projects through the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement of processes and tools.
- Quality assurance of work of direct reports.
- Manage workload distribution across project managers, production drawing and production scheduling.
- Customer interface as required to ensure proper understanding of project requirements.
- Identify value engineering opportunities.
- Training and development of staff.
- Help drive business growth and product diversification.
Project Management
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure projected goals are accomplished within time frame and funding parameters.
- Review project proposals/plan to determine time frame, establish work plan, coordinate activities, monitor progress, prepare reports, help to resolve problems, and confer with clients and management.
- Establish and maintain detailed project schedules for each.
- Oversee project management activities related to material control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving functions.
- Input and track data including all correspondence, financial data, change orders and submittals.
- Provide timely information to sales for negotiation of changes with the customers’ orders.
- Understand and adhere to policies, procedures, and material control systems.
- Provide bills of material and conditions for strategic purchases to be made by Supply Chain.
- Confirm Bills of Materials in ERP system are accurately/appropriately adjusted for custom structures and engineered products before start of production.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- 5 years related project management experience
- 2 years managing employees.
- PMP Certification preferred

- Ability to read and understand design drawings and bid packages/submittals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
